Bed and Breakfast in Catalonia
Welcome to Mas d'en Roig and our updated website for 2013. Dating from the 12th Century this B&B is a farm house set in the delightful vineyards of Cataluña with extensive views of the surrounding mountains. The property features a very large sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and has several spacious bedrooms.
There is a large and completely private walled garden with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. There is also a roof terrace if some private sunbathing space is required. The property itself is reminiscent of a medieval castle and has been decorated and adorned to continue this feel throughout, giving a delightfully romantic setting for your holiday or short break.
The village of Vila-Rodona is situated 4 km away where all amenities such as supermarkets, bakery, bank, doctors, chemist's shop and bars are available. The famous village of Santes Creus is located at approximately 10 minutes driving from Mas d'en Roig. Here you will find an historic unspoilt monastery and some beautiful walks and cycling routes. There is also horse riding across the mountains available in the area at a very reasonable price. In the small village of El Pont d'Armentera, approximately 15 minutes from the property, there is an attractive river running through woodland with riverside walks and waterfalls. At no more than 30 mins driving you have a selection of beautifully clear and clean beaches, some with all facilities and some more secluded ones preferred by naturists.
The city of Tarragona is famous for being the ancient Roman capital of Spain and is just 25km from Mas d'en Roig. There is the medieval town centre, the Roman amphitheatre and the new Ramblas, where weekly markets are held. There are several fiestas held in Tarragona throughout the year, something not to be missed.
Access to Barcelona is approximately 1 hour by car or a little longer by train. The area of Vilafranca is approximately 30 minutes by car and is famous for its wines and cavas with many tours and tastings available. Across the entire area of Baix Camp and Alt Camp there are many excellent restaurants catering for most tastes. The diet is predominantly Mediterranean with an excellent variety of meat, fish and vegetables and many local specialities.
Due to the location, design and decoration of the property, unfortunately this isn't the ideal place for children. We are very animal friendly with 3 small dogs living at the property; although to avoid problems we cannot allow guests to bring their own pets.
There are two rooms available in this private house. The red room has a four poster bed and the other room has its own private roof terrace. The two rooms share a bathroom. If you need more accommodation then please contact us.
